The Planes Respond
Skin, subcutis, fascia, muscle: each plane has its own consistency, tension and behaviour. On a synthetic model this information does not exist.

Rationale
Between practising on a model and suturing a patient there is no intermediate step. This course is that step.
Suturing is generally learnt on sponges, on silicone pads, at most on animal tissue. Then the first real suture is performed on a patient, in a context where mistakes have a cost. In between, a step is missing, and it is exactly the step this day builds: performing the technique on a real human anatomical specimen — not on a sponge, an orange or chicken — where skin, subcutis, fascia, muscle, tendon and vessel respond as in the living. With one substantial difference: here a mistake costs nothing, except to the person who makes it.
Skin, subcutis, fascia, muscle: each plane has its own consistency, tension and behaviour. On a synthetic model this information does not exist.
Thread, needle and instrument are chosen according to the tissue in front of you. The opening theory session covers exactly the criteria for choosing threads, needles, skin staplers and clips.
Real tissue immediately shows excessive tension, a misplaced stitch, a skipped plane. And the correction comes on the spot, right in the room.

Specimen
You work on a real human anatomical specimen, in the dissection room. Not on a sponge, not on silicone pads, not on animal tissue: on skin, subcutis, fascia, muscle, tendon and vessel that resist as they really do, and where the knot holds or gives way for the same reasons it will hold or give way in the operating room.
The day opens by addressing this point explicitly. The topics of the theory session include the Anatomicus project and the rationale of the cadaver lab, an anatomical review of the planes, and ethics and responsibility in the use of the specimen: the premise of the course, even before the technique.
«You cannot suture what you have never felt under your hands.»
Work in the dissection room, on a real human anatomical specimen.
Audience
For those who have never performed a suture on real tissue. The course is introductory and is not suitable for already trained specialists, who would find the level too basic: for them, the full anatomical dissection course or the upcoming advanced editions. No previous suturing experience is required.
Oriented towards surgery or emergency medicine.
Surgical and emergency areas.
Do you recognise yourself in one of these profiles?
No suturing experience required: you start from the first stitch.

Method
It is the element on which everything else rests, and it is worth saying straight away: it is what separates a practical course from a demonstration. While the participant performs the technique, the correction comes on the spot, in the room, and not as a remote comment.
Selected surgical tutors work at the stations, alongside operating-room scrub nurses who guide participants in choosing and handling materials. The day progresses from the simplest to the most demanding technique, with dedicated rotating stations for the finest techniques.
Correction at the station, in the dissection room.
Manual suture, skin stapler and clips.
The most demanding plane, and the one where most mistakes are made.
Fine technique. Dedicated station with group rotation.
On the femoral axis. Dedicated station with group rotation.
Four sessions / Six hours in the dissection room
Every technique corrected on the spot, at the station.
